I never thought that Assembly type figures would be such high quality. AND MORE CHEAPER AT THAT!
The Etna and Flonne D2 pvc figures i got awhile back were about $50 each.
But i can see why it would be expensive (With horrible paint jobs.)
With Dawn/Hikari or other Assembly type figures, the parts are much easier to paint, and making the molds are alot easier. With full body PVC, the chances of paint heading to the right spots are less likely and making the molds would be much harder.
I'm really liking this figure. Infact, before the my knowledge of the existence of this figure, i wanted to make my own Dawn figure by scratch. But for a low low price of $22, i didn't need too.
The paint job on this baby is gre
at, the material quality is fine, but it seems that the legs are less budget. I had the choice of buying the Piplup edition or the Bunnery edition. I got the Piplup one obviously. I think this is probably my best Comic-Con purchase. They slightly gave her an ass. But no pantie shots with this one.

The girl who leapt through time.
Posted by Randy Kasugano at 8:07 PM
I didn't catch Ponyo on Comic-Con friday as originally planned, but i did happen to stumble upon this film.
After walking for miles looking for the Ponyo event, time of course had to pass by me like a train.
So i just gave up.
I grab a Mocha frappuccino from Starbucks and walk down to the convention center like a badass who's about to have a blast.
Sadly, I drank it before i could sit in a theater room. It was a small. And i'm watching my figure at the moment and figured that a venti will not burn off from this whole day of walking. Sigh.. It was enjoyable though. So now i'm sitting in a room about to watch a premier of Fist of the North Star-Legend of the Dark King. As usual, you have a man blessed with the power of a God. And my gawd it was entertaining. The first punch blew a hole in some guy's stomach and the shockwave obliterated a hole into the sky scrapper behind the soon to be dead man. As soon as that happened, the audience is clapping from erection. Yes. It was THAT awesome. So then eventually it ended.. I got up.. And looked at the schedule. The girl who leapt through time eh?
As I sit in the theater room and it seems that i missed about 10-20 minutes of the film. But i see that our time traveling heroine Makoto Konno appears to have slipped and fell on a device that came from the future. It was a time machine/walnut hybrid. haha.
As the books she was holding is falling towards her face, time suddenly stops and shes now having a bizarre acid trip (for lack of better words). After that she just goes on her day wondering what fuck just happened. Shes already having a bad day. The jello was missing, she blew up shit in her Home Economics class and currently shes ridding home on her bike.
SPOILERS
:::The ridding home part is probably where her day will end as SHE RIDES DOWN A HILL AND DISCOVERS THAT HER BIKE'S BRAKES DON'T WORK AS SHES HEADING INTO A INCOMING TRAIN!
I sit and i watch as our cute high school girl is about to get destroyed by a passing train.
I'm holding my face right about now... I know whats going to happen.. But still, this movie knows how to do drama and suspense. So obviously she survives because time reversed some how.::::
She goes apeshit trying to figure out how the hell did she do it (time leap into the past). So in a desperate attempt she manages to learn by throwing her self head first into something to re-appear in the past.
She uses this new power to eat anything she wants as much as she wants and to change situations to her liking. I'm in no way going to speak anymore about the plot as i REALLY want you to see for your self how this goes.. But Her doing all these 'fixes' to her life ultimately ruins someone elses.. As this happens she now tries to fix all she has done wrong.
This movie was well thought out. It will remind you of The Butterfly Effect in alot of ways of how altering situations in the past will change the present. But how this film tells the story is just amazing. The characters are lovable, the character development is outstanding, the life situations are cute as hell and the acting makes you think you're back in school again being there with Makoto and the gang. If this wasn't a film, the genre would be Slice of Life/drama/Romance. (Seeing how Slice of Life isn't a movie genre). All in all, i'd have to say that this is the best Anime film that i have ever seen.. And now i'm actually glad that i didn't go to the Ponyo event. But still disappointed that i didn't get the Venti sized drink to enjoy this movie with (I did have string cheese and Nilla Wafers though). The only bad thing i can say about this film is part of the execution. Theres parts that didn't really need to be there. Like scenes that stare at an object too long. But other than that, this is almost a flawless movie. When it finished, the theater gave it a standing ovation.
Thats the only time i've seen one of these at Comic-Con.
As I walk out of the Screening, I'm hit with a huge smile that would last the whole night as my heart strings are pulled but only my kidneys are effected.
Have you ever seen a movie sooo good that your kidneys had some strong unusual feeling?
First time it's happened to me.
SUGGESTIONS;
I've saw this on a HUGEE screen with surround sound and a enjoyable yet modest crowd.
If you want your kidneys to hurt like mine, i suggest you find a shit load of friends
and rent a theater. If you can't do that, view it on a 1080p 40 inch or bigger screen with
120Hz shitting out of it (with friends).
You'll need surround sound for sure as the audio in this movie uses the
left and right speakers individually quite a bit. The music is gorgeous too.
If you watch on a basic tube tv or computer screen, you pretty much miss out on the animation capturing your heart.

COMIC CON 09 -SUNDAY
Posted by Randy Kasugano at 1:30 PM
All good things come to an end.. Today is that end. Nothing much left to do. The Convention closes alittle after 5:00pm on this day. Nothing left to do besides blow off the rest of the cash left.
That said i did research a night before on all the animes i watched. I looked at prices online for the very good ones. If i can find prices like this at Comic-Con, then i'd buy them.
I only had $47 left and a few quarters.. The contenders on my shopping list were all worthy.. But only a few had similar online prices. That said I got the the following;
The Girl who Leapt through time & MagicalWitch Punie-chan
$24+20+tax= $47.75 I HAD THE EXACT FRIGGEN CHANGE! OMGZ
Best Movie i've ever seen and one of the best Gore filled comedies i've ever seen.
Today was a light day.. Met up with a few friends, took the last pictures of cosplayers, watched the last of the Animus, and even took pictures of friends cosplaying. Running into Carrie for example was pure coincidence. I had to take a piss really badly and then meet up with my friend in Ballroom 20. As i walk out i see Luka in leather. Who else could sew this damn good?
It was years since i've talked to her, but stumbling upon her online again kinda made me happy as she was a vocaloid fan now. OH GOD YES.
Yeah, you know the feeling.
As the time passes i venture to the Exhibition hall with only a quater left.
Took a couple of pictures, and that was that. "Thank you for coming to Comic-Con 2009, The convention will now come to a close etc" Then like in Genshiken, everyone in the convention applauds. And the rest is history.

COMIC CON 09 -SATURDAY THE MASQUERADE PARTY
Posted by Randy Kasugano at 12:22 PM
So in my opinion, not much was going to happen that day because i already did most of my plans and saw most of the animus.
But as always.. My predictions came out wrong. Today was the most out of any day in Comic-Con history that i've seen this many people. The Exhibition hall is always scary. But this time Up stairs was scary. My precious Anime hall was filled like a bag of chips (still room, but still crowded). That never happens. The cosplay today was more than any day i've ever seen. But you know what? My Camera battery was dead. DEAD. It said it was full.. But machines lie too right? So in a emergency call, i get the fuck out of the convention center and head the fuck home and grab the charger so i can head back. As i was home i was in the middle of exchanging my $30 check to my mom for cash. But then my sister interrupted and asked that she get MY money because i somehow ripped her off with the recycling cash. (Which i didn't because for 4 years of collecting she mixed up the cans and bottles so i can labor in the back yard for a week sorting them out.) She claims that i was working too slow in the hot weather and she could have done it because some how she has excellent intake of nutrition than i do (fats and carbs lol). So then she says "AT LEAST I DON'T SPEND IT ON PORN". My mom was all "You bought Porn?". I said no, because it really wasn't porn at all. Then my sister yelled "ITS CARTOON PORN" (we were talking about the Ecchi art collection). So then my mom refused to give me the exchange in cash. My sister being super smart had no reason to bring that up as i don't speak about her spending her money only on NON tangible substances such and POT. But being the nice brother i am, i don't say a word, but rather i just deal with the situation (I'm not a rat, but wish to be at times like this). So now the family is having a talk with me about my Moe moe Ecchi animu hobbies :3 . "What does this do for you?" "It isn't reality" etc.
It was... very soul binding. Then i hear my mom say something like "Cartoons shouldn't be doing stuff like that". Lulz were had as i felt bad for these people as they only had sooo little to grow up with. I thought the rest
of the day would turn out bad as i have this new hypermode loathing hate for my dad (Almost like everyday rite?). But as always, my predictions turn out wrong.
So i'm now watching Fate Stay Night in one of the theater rooms whilst charging my Battery on the wall closest to me. The thing charges and i walk out side after that awesome second to last episode.. What i see is a line. BIG ASS FUCKING LINE. If that wasn't bad enough, 4Chan was there doing some /b/ shit. But was it truly bad? Lol no. This was one of the highlights of Comic-Con adventure 2009. My Animu hall was filled with this GIANT LINE for the Masquerade party. I've never been to one of these at Comic-Con before. I wasn't planning too either. In this long line we have people with signs saying "Twilight Ruined Comic-Con", "Free hugs", "Twilight this and that". But what really got the energy flowing was that this line was chanting "TWILIGHT SUCKS, TWILIGHT SUCKS". So i'm just trying to take in the moment with a doezen pictures since i have no camcorder mode on this $500 piece of shit. So 30 minutes later i head to one of the Animu rooms to watch something.. I thi
nk it was Doujin Work. Pretty sure it was. After that ended there wasn't much animu to watch till 11:00pm. That said i decided to find the Masquerade. Upon this quest i stumble upon a line where the Autograph area was in the morning. I soon discover that it was for free food. Salads, Nachos, Popcorn, & velvet red cupcakes. Then upon walking further there was filled tables of people watching the Masquerade live via a huge screen. Even more awesome -there was a bar. Alcohol at my Comic-Con? Its less likely than you think. In the awesomeness of all this i ran over to Ballroom 20 where the Masquerade was taking place. OH MY GOD, THE SEATS ARE ALL GONE AND
AMAZINGNESS WAS EVERYWHERE! I sit on the floor up in front getting my camera ready. The stage had so many great acts and costumes that i could just wet myself. Two acts worthy of mention was a Muppet act which was sooo damn hilarious and Act #18 -"Welcome to the Dollhouse". Welcome to the doll house started with Igor holding a giant Ipod. The master dude said to play a said song. "A small world after all" starts playing and cultures of different people come out of the box and started holding hands whilst walking in a circle happily. It was meh.. But then Master dude said "IGOR, THATS NOT THE SONG I WANTED". Igor replied "Oh yes, sorry my master". then you see Igor switching the songs on the giant ipod whilst the ipod clicks were had. He presses play and you hear;
"Cause this is thriller!!!!!!!!!, thriller night
And no one's gonna save you from the beast about strike"
Everyone on stage are now doing the dance and everyone in the audience is going WILD.
Lots of applaud went to that act. By the end of the night they won a few awards. Not sure which. But anyway, i leave the Ballroom to go back to the "Eating auditorium room" to watch and
eat there. But then the acts ended which left time (3 hours) for the judges to vote on the acts. Then the lights dim. Music turns on super loud and strobe lights and colorful flights fuck up the room. I'm now at a real party. Whilst the room dances and shake their tits, i had my camera ready to take the most pix out of my 5 day weekend. SOO MUCH GOING ON, Wasted Harry Potter, Break dancing Otaku, Amazing things. So many people hooked up (Which is amazing since we all know what kind of people dwell upon comic-con). I look at the clock and see that its midnight. Oh SHIT, HELLSING ULTIMATE IS ON!! Oh well, lol. So the judging has ended and the music was supposed to stop, but by demand, it stayed on. I didn't really watch the winners, but i'm glad who i saw won, win.
So the last songs played were some Micheal Jackson of course. Party ends... people go home and i bought nothing.
Great day. Best Comic-Con day. Can't wait till next year.

COMIC CON 09 -FRIDAY
Posted by Randy Kasugano at 12:18 PM
So now its Friday
Its 2:00am and so that left me 6 or less hours of possible sleep as i would wake up again to come back to Comic-Con within hours. But noooo, my dumbass stood up till 3:00am. 3 hours later my dad calls to wake me up to get ready for 8:00am. WHO THE FUCK TAKES 3 HOURS TO GET READY ANYWAY? So i go back to sleep and wake up at 8:00am. OH FUCK. No worries though.. I'll just slip on my new shirt THAT I CAN'T FIND. After the hustle, i'm at CC waiting for 9:30 to come. Its 8:20am and the place is already packed... But Sooooo many beautiful womenz. I swear its like the rule to have a skinny waist and big breasts to enter comic-con. Because these type of women out number the fat and flat people. So 9:30 comes and So i take a seat on a bench to see what time one of my japanese animus start. 10:00am?!?! WHAT!? FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.
Oh well... I'll just sit on the bench and look at this AMAZING view in front of me. Not of Women.. But the Downtown gaslamp. Occasionally i'll take a pic of a few passing cosplayers. But today was just a rest day from fucking up my limbs from walking for miles indoors. Just animu. All day. But i 7:00pm i was planing to watch the Dub premier of Ponyo whist Hayao Miyazaki talks about it. It was a once in a lifetime event. Hayao Miyazaki hasn't been in America since the promotion of Princess Mononoke. A snapshot of him with me would have made it a highlight of my life. So.. After all the study i did from learning the directions... I then find out that its premiering in HALL H. OH BOY! But when the time comes.... nothings happening... Its just a different panel of the Avatar movie (which was fun). The Avatar movie will be in Baysplosions vision. (Super CGI). ANYWAY... So now i find my self walking for miles finding the actual location... I see a line of people walking somewhere... Not just anyone, but Anime people. So i thought maybe they're going to Ponyo? So i follow. A mile later we're near a parking lot. And what happens? THIS LINE WAS GOING BACK TO THEIR CARS TO GO HOME! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.
So i walk a few miles back to the convention.. and i walk another billion years to this hotel that was having a Comic-Con event. I see Asians and Hayao Miyazaki merch on them, so i'm like "FUCK YEAH, LETS GO GO GO!!". So now i'm at this fancy hotel. I see a line.. The glee on my face would suddenly burst into a WHAT THE FUCK as soon as i see that this event was for the Eisner Awards. To folks that don't know what that is -The Eisner Awards is the Grammy/Oscar equivalent to the Comic-Book. I would take a peak, but it was guests only. So as my hope exploded, i head back to the convention center... BUT FIRST, i'll take my Mocha frappuccino! Thank you Star Bucks. I needed that. So now i'm back at the convention center... I didn't really have anything else planned because Hayao Miyazaki was the rest of my day. So i sit into one of the anime rooms. I happened to be watching a dub showing of the movie "The Girl who leapt through time". I'm not going to explain it now, because this movie deserves it's own post. But this movie was probably the best movie i have ever seen. A standing ovation was had, and a new dvd was on my shopping list. Shit was so beautiful. I wonder if going to Ponyo would have been a worse experience... But i'm glad i didn't see it. If i did, i would have never seen this great film.
MOVING ON! If my night couldn't get any better, the anime showings were just FANTASIC.
Applauds to the premier of a new Fist of the North star was had, and HELLSING ULTIMATE WAS AMAZINGGGGGGGGG. I ended that night with some Ecchi. Headed home... and slept for another 3 hours.

COMIC CON 09 -THURSDAY
Posted by Randy Kasugano at 12:10 PM
Thursday comes. The true first day of Comic-Con.
I came with Nilla Wafers, water and string cheese as i was going to be venturing off to the
world of unexplored anime. The first actual Comic-Con panel i visit was the ASTRO BOY movie panel. So much people came for something i thought had little interest to anyone. So we get speakers from the director, producer and Astro's VA. Not much going on here... But i can tell you whos going to VA in the movie.. Samuel L Jackson as (lol i didn't take notes), Nicholas Cage as the antagonist, Bill Nye & sum other hoe as (didn't take notes cuz i didn't knoe lol).
What i saw had the charm, visual appearance and humor of a Pixar film, but with Baysplosions in it. The footage i saw would make you think of Pixar but with Tranformers violence (Without the gore) and what people in the 50's would think the future would look like- Type style. After that ended i went back to my animus.
As i was switching viewing rooms and shitting out my deposits of cookies and cheese, i would always see some fat cosplayer and seldom the actual great ones. But the great ones had been captured with my trusty camera. And not all the Anime the viewing rooms show is worthwhile... This just leaves me with more shopping! By the end of the day is bought
2 shits, 1 art book. This translates as $35+20+tax= $60
Picture came out shitty. Oh well right?
My day wasn't over yet. The Anime showings end at 1:00am.
What exactly would they be showing at this time? LOTS OF ECCHI GOODNESS.
I'll write my viewings in a different post as i don't have the space in this one.
But i get home at 1:50am ish...

Super Mario Marathon 2
Posted by Randy Kasugano at 4:23 PMI was the first person to email them last year during their first 10 minutes. Am i cool yet?
YES, Yes i am.
Last year the Mario Marathon team raked up $12,000 of donations to the Child's Play charity.
But this year..... This year they went hella organized and raked up $29,030.76 and have gotten thrice the amount of viewers. Pretty impressive. But not really since watching this was very very delightful. I hope they get a Couch Dog cam next year. Its not really done yet, but i'm not going to wait on them to finish so i can write this.

HAIL ARCEUS! HAIL MECHA!
Posted by Randy Kasugano at 8:36 AMI know i'm a little late to jump on the train, but i just finished Gurren Lagann.
I've never watched an anime quite like this that was able to make me feel a positive emotion.
I mean, its like Courage Wolf was spawned inside me, and thus made me feel like Captain Falcon for those moments of watching. "ITS LIEK I'M RLY BADASS!". Now i officially like the Mecha genre. I liked G-Gundam a whole lot, but then SEED made me hate Mecha. But its okay now.
Code Geass was ok too. I was bored shitless from it, but i tuned into the last 5 episodes and shat myself from it having an amazing ending. Now i'm watching the series from the beginning since i understand wtf is going on now.
Anywho..
I'm also alittle late to know that Billy Mays has died a couple days after MJ & FF.
Its sad really. Because i wouldn't have known the awesome that is mighty putty.
In other MORE pleasant news, it has been confirmed that Mewtwo will be in Heart Gold/Soul Silver! I don't really give a damn about the Latios and Latias news. They're pointless to the Pokemon lore..
..Speaking of lore, join my new Arceus cult!
http://hail-arceus.blogspot.com/
or myspace groups
http://groups.myspace.com/CHURCHovARCEUS
I made up the whole "Genesis" story on that page with using factual Pokemon lore.
(I'm practicing my writing skills.)
Latios and Latias were so worthless. No need to include them in the chart or story.
Lugia clones.
lul, I drew that!^^^ Theres soo much symbolism in it, that its deeper than the Da Vinci Code.
The Arceus Sigil i made is just as hardcore.
I'm watching the Mario Marathon 2 right now.
I'll write about it when it ends. Shits addictive and awesome.

Grilled Chicken Warz
Posted by Randy Kasugano at 6:26 AM
Fast Food notes;
El Pollo Loco > Kentucky Grilled Chicken
Not sure how the hell EPL keeps such low prices for the taste and hasn't been
bankrupt yet. I'm guessing they buy out all the leftover chicken hordes after the "Big 3" take
first dibs on the fresh chicken. Now Kentucky Grilled Chicken.. It tastes like the original KFC fried chicken recipe. Great right? Well no, the fried chicken is nice and oily with lots of juicy fats. The Kentucky Grilled Chicken is almost as dry as my dad's pork chops. Pretty much a block of eatable seasoning. They weren't kidding when the ad said "It falls right off the bone". IT REALLY DOES! Sounds like a block of ice when it hits your plate. Not too flattering. Even i can make better chicken, probably anyone who does not know how to cook. Now for those who MIGHT go off to El Pollo Loco to fuel their souls, i recommend to do the following;
1. Prepare some jasmine rice (Have it cook 30 minutes prior to leaving).
2. Go off to the Crazy Chicken and order some Mac and Cheese as a side with your chicken.
3. Get home, get a bowl, put in the rice and soy sauce (WHITE PEOPLE, DON'T ABUSE THE AMOUNT OF SOY SAUCE)
4. Pour about 1/3rd the amount of Mac and Cheese on your rice as the amount of rice you have in the bowl.
(If you have 2 cups of cooked rice in the bowl, then 1 cup of M&C is what you're aiming for)
5. Gently mash together. (Only just slightly Mixing it)
6. Eat with your crazy chickens.
You know whats really fun? If you replace the chicken with Fried Chicken and use the skin to wrap around the rice.
BUT! -El Pollo Loco's Mac & cheese complements the rice farrrr better than the Neclear Orange stuff you get at KFC. Most of you Asians probably already do this. I just laugh at the fools who think it sounds disgusting. But guess what? People think the idea of cheese is gross.
If you're really a ambitious eater, how about going to both places?!
Ps. If you want to push it to the extreme, throw in a sunnyside up egg and a hashbrown and mix it along with the 3000 calorie bowl of wet dreams. I've done this about 10 times in my lifetime. Its sooo amazing.

San Diego Comic-Con 09
Posted by Randy Kasugano at 10:22 PM
ITS THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN!
The only 4 days of the year where i leave my room!
Comic-Con is coming... Again..
I've been going every year since 1999 due to the convention center being in my backyard. Its like everybody came to my birthday or something. Which also explains all the free goodies. Last time i blew off $300 on-you guessed it, Anime and Video games. Which is fine because its very seldom that i get to blow off my parent's money like a madman (Which i'm very thankful for). But this year it'll come out of my pocket (maybe). The very pocket that I've been on other Comic-Con adventures with (same pants). But this year will be different. This year i'm mostly in pursuit of the hot nippon lady action.
Witches don't know about my
Gen Lai Sen.
1. Find cute girl
2. Feed her the best Chinese food in California
3. ????
4. Profit!
Gen Lai Sen is a family owned restaurant with the charm of looking like a hole in the wall with the typical indoor/street vendor type feeling of China. I've been going here for years and I've got to say, those rundown 17 year old carpets make the experience 100% more authentic, thus Super powering your date with whomever you choose. But be warned! Don't buy take out unless it's necessary.
Buying indoors= 1.5 times the amount of extra food (THAT YOU CAN DOGGY BAG). ITS WORTH IT!. If you ever do consider this awesome award winning sweat house of child labor- (with it's own parking lot), then try out the Beef Noodle and Pork Fried rice. SHIT IS SO BOMB. Stay close to these mainstream dishes, i'd say they've had a lot more practice with those dishes than anything else. And the Veggie Fried rice is even better than the pork (Weird isn't it?). And that's not even the awesome part. The awesome part is you eating there after leaving Comic-Con. Its just a few blocks away. Small yellow building that looks wayyyyy out of place from the City College and skyscraper apartment complex across from it.
http://www.yelp.com/biz/gen-lai-sen-san-diego
Now back to Comic-Con.
Heres my wish-list for this year;
1. Miku Hatsune Wall Mount PVC figure (as seen above)
83.66 USD -(thats actually really fucking good for the price)
2. Gurren Lagann limited edition Boxset.
60 USD
3. Tsukasa Hiiragi figure (seen on the right)
40 USD
4. G-Gundam Boxes 1 & 2
100 USD
5. Belphegor shirt
15 USD
^Those are just things that i want but wont guarantee it's purchase. If i do happen to get all of the above
($298) then theres a 80% chance that i would want to buy anything that suddenly comes up.
Like.. a bargan on Generation 1 Pokemon boosters, or Posters of awesome, etc etc. Maybe i can finally get that FLCL ultemate collection. Perhaps even the Disgaea art books.
